Overview:
We are excited to announce a Call for Art for the design of a vibrant, colorful crosswalk mural in our city! This project aims to enhance the visual appeal of our streets and celebrate the creativity of local artists. The goal is to design a crosswalk that is FULL OF COLOR, with an emphasis on bold, eye-catching patterns or imagery that could be abstract or realistic—whatever brings the most dynamic and vibrant energy to our community!
Details:

Project Scope: The city will prepare the crosswalk area, and all necessary paints will be provided. The selected artist will be responsible for painting the design onto the street.

Support: Volunteers from the WAC (Willoughby Arts Collaborative) will be provided to assist the artist in painting the design. You may choose to create a stencil or outline the crosswalk mural in whatever way you think will best guide the team for a successful completion.

Prize: The winning artist will receive a $500 prize.

Installation Deadline: The first crosswalk mural must be completed with dry paint by June 7th. This coincides with the grand reveal of Color Theory, a mural located behind Domino’s on the same day. We will be hosting a mini art festival on June 7th with live art, music, and food trucks. The crosswalk mural will be unveiled as part of the festival! WAC will contact the artist to schedule date/time.

Eligibility: Open to all artists.
